I was told by a tire dealer buddy of mine these words of wisdom, and have used the advice ever since. "Trailer tires are made to pull straight down the road, therefore, the side walls are not as flexable as car tires. A good raidal car tire with the proper load range will last longer, give better traction on curves in wet conditions and will give your boat a smoother ride cuz the side walls have more give to them." I pull my center console more miles in one year than most people put on their cars. I use 14" motor home tires because of the higher load range, and they last almost twice as long as trailer tires. They also do not weather crack as bad either. Just my 2 cents.
