Thread: New Trailer Tires

You tryin to sneak up here without letting me know?give me a holler and we'll try to hook up.

Try Mr. Tire on 24 Hwy I bought mine there and they are fast and reasonable.

Whatever you do, get the most quality tire instead of cheapest price..I have been burned in the past with cheap tires and you pay more in tow fees and spare tires to make up the difference down the road..my brother just replaced his on his new boat already becasue they come with cheapies from the factory...just my 2 cents

Those tires just kept going and going. I waited for one to give out, never did. That boat has been all over the place. LOZ, Truman at least 100 times, Iowa several times, stockton several times. All this while I owned it. I know the previous owner well, so I know it made many trips before I had it.

I don't think that is a standard size tire, more of a cheapy. I'd say you'd be fine at one of the trailer stores. And you'll probably find that it's cheaper to buy the tire/rim combo as opposed to having the tires changed, at least that's been my experience.

One thing you've got going is that rig is super light, so once you change them, they'll proabably last another 10-15 years.

Yeah, Mike - they'd probably be fine... but with my luck....not taking the chance :D

I'm not sure if you got your trailer tire or not, but I noticed you lived in Liberty. I went to Riteway in Excelsior and got my last set of trailer tires before taking off with my dad for Lake Powell last year. They set me up with a pair of good quality tires made for boat trailers and didn't sink the hook as it were....

I would recommend them, they pretty much beat everyone on price and don't throw all the bull droppings on for extras, like tire disposal, valve stem, new air, warranty and whatever else some of the other tire places come up with.

Good luck and be safe. I look at new tires as piece of mind. It seems like as they sit around all winter, they shoot craps on the tread where they sat...it must weaken them or something.
