I pull 2 1/4 oz jigs under the cork, frankly cause it's easy for me to figure depth and shallow water is a lot easier, fishing deep behind a cork is a pain.
1 mph, 1/2oz total weight, good run of thumb is the bait will run half of how much line you have out. Wanting to fish 3 foot deep you need 6 foot of line behind the cork. It works pretty good for me, run cranks the same way in the spring. Run both of the sides just like I fish in the summer.

Actually a non-weighted popping cork turned around backwards works very well.

Just about always have one dragging beside the boat while I'm single poling these creeks. Definitely a good tactic when fishing a row of stumps along a bank. I'll have one out each side typically.

Default Pulling Jigs with a cork?

Here's something some buddies of mine that tourney fish the MCC are doing to long line jigs.

I'm told that Offshore is making a float kit for their mini boards so you can free spoil them into place. I used this method. Just attach an egg shaped float to the top of the mini boards. Red is right and green is left. I got my floats at Lakeway in Nader, cut out a wedge in the float and super glued them on the board. Take extra glue just in case one comes off.

Bill, theses are pretty nice planners and easier to use without modifying the off shore.

This may be the dumbest question ever asked but do you have to turn around and watch for bites on these planer boards. Reason I ask is right now I have no way to turn around and watch and steer the boat. I fish mostly by myself and my trolling motor is not that great. The way I have been fishing is to put the rod in the holder and when it bends back pick it up and reel in the fish no looking backwards at the cork
