Central Park is full of big bass. The crappie and bream are stunted, there are so many!It is full of slimers also but keeping the turtles off your baits is another story. The lakes need to be better managed.More trash containers placed around both lakes and out of stater's should be checked for any sign of a Ms. license.I watched a man pull at least 90 crappie off a corner of that lake one day and put them in aerated coolers. He said he was going to put them into another lake some where.I went back to the same spot the next day with a cork and jig and caught 79 off the same spot. All were not much bigger than the length of your hand.I have put bass up to 8 lbs. back in the lake.Plenty of fire ants if you ain't looking out!I don't know about eating fish from Greenbrook or Central Park. Greenbrook gets all kinds of runoff from warehouses and residential streets around it.The geese make walking around Central Park a sheer pleasure! When water is running under the road from the smaller lake into the bigger lake, and the water is going down the spill over of the bigger lake, shad will move into the current from the water coming from the small lake. I have killed bass with a spinnerbait while fishing that spot.I have had people tell of bass over 10lbs.from Greenbrook Lake.At 1 time there was an association but not sure about now. I live in Greenbrook and will try to find out from some of the residents on the lake about private or not.I see hardly any boats on the lake and very few people fishing it from the bank except on the west side coming in from Airways. Those folks are trespassing on private land also.

Anybody else remember the gravel pits at Greenbrook Parkway and Goodman??? Can't count the big bass we caught out of them things growing up. Of course they filled them in and built apartments or something on them on an earthquake fault line on top of that, time will tell!!!

I remember the pits from Stateline to Goodman, from where Home Depot is to past Swinnea.

I just got a E-mail from a City park dept. employee saying it is Private property. Well that settles that..
"The lake is owned by the homeowners association. The city maintains up to lakes edge on the parks sides. We do not maintain the boat ramp or property".

I've been to the park on Stateline rd. The grass isn't cut that well, or the times I've been with grandkids. I think the person cutting is afraid to get to close to the water. Doesn't know how to lower the blade or use a weed eater. Trash piled up everywhere. Broken stuff for the kids to play on.

I'm not going to sneak around and do anything. If it is a private lake so be it. If I owned a house there and was paying for the up keep of the lake I would expect the same consideration I would not be the old grumpy dude hollering get off my lawn but would use any legal means needed to protect my interest. The people that live there have aleady got a bad deal with the view of the crowded park and the huge warehouses across statellne rd. I will try Central Park since it is in my neigborhood . It's not like I would be fishing for supper. I just wanted to know.

Yeah Pantera, Central Park is full of fish. The big lake has an abundance of crappie, like another mentioned not much size to them anymore. Used to go out and catch a good many 10" or 11" crappie out there years ago. They even have hybrids they stocked in central park.. caught this one in March, turned him lose after letting others come check him out.

This came from Greenbrook off the bank by park off Stateline.

Put your boat in the big lake at Central and fish the deep visible structure sticking out the water and should load up on dinner. Fish out there are fine to eat Greenbrook lake in Southaven ms.
