They don't care about the fishing. It's all about flood control
I am no expert on this lake, actually not even close to an expert on any lake but I fished it for 8 hours on Wednesday. I ended up with 5 keepers and probably that many throwbacks. The lake is turning into a gar hole, literally... I don't understand the philosophy of the COE as relates to this lake. What is so significant in May 1st? Why not look at the present lake level and the level of the tributaries upstream and downstream rather than a random date? Is there flooding going on in the upper or lower ends of the Coldwater River??? News to me...

Yeah they don't care so much that they have supplied the materials to build new fish habitats every winter for the past five+ years on all four COE lakes and sent the state biologist to help us place the stake beds where they would do the most good. But they don't care. For some reason they feel the lives and the property of the people that live in the delta are more important.

Fished it today from 3:00 till almost dark. Caught 3 fish all overs. One had eggs coming out of her. Not sure where they are all at but I think it's time to start trying. I did see some places that have good possibilities for the next week or so.
We killed 'em here yesterday.
If the water would stabilize for a while,we should show the grenada boys what a big fish is.

When your trolling and every 20ft a 2-3ft gar flips over on top of the water in front of your poles, I believe one can say every boy on the lake will have fits fishing 'butla...
