GM was closest outdoor products store but everytime i went in there they had zip on sale of anything that I was interested in. clothes were but not their fishing stuff or hunting. have gone back several times but not bought anything. just didn't 'get it' about how to use loss leaders to get foot traffic. if BP takes them over at least it would have a much closer location than ST Charles here in STL.
Academy opened few miles away and they have stuff you want to buy on sale all the time. convenient for me to stop by and just check out the jigs and fishing stuff that are real deals and keep me coming back. Plus when i bought a cheaply made slab slayer from them on sale, used it one time and it broke first time jig caught on brush they took it back without receipt and I upgraded to B n M pole for just a little more. shame on wally's pole as I liked it till it just fell apart.
MC Sports in Cadillac, Traverse City, & 3 more north are liquidating now. My wife saw on facebook it took some people 2 hours to get checked out. To many people for me to go there.
Watch me - I can do it again
Happened to be driving by the MC here in Holland yesterday, and they are pretty busy with all the "deal seekers" too. I might have to go see what's left.
