So do you think the foaming is a problem?
Usually the other way around, that was the reason that Merc came out with the Hi-Perf gear oil, designed at first to be used in the Bravo outdrives with high HP motors, regular gear oil would foam up and could possibly cause a failure, thats why the partial synthetic oils where made for the higher HP motrs at first, then worked into just about all motors now

No I think it's simple arreation , I would let it sit like I said a couple of days then check it, I see it all the time after running a motor and checking it the same day or even the next. Air in the oil will make it look creamy and there is no way to NOT get air in the oil when it runs

Thanks!
The oil I drained out is in a clear milk jug and has been sitting for over a week and there is no visible water at the bottom but the oil is still milky looking. I guess it would take a long time for the air to escape the oil at these colder winter temps. we are having.
knowledge I will be storing away in the back of my head for future reference, good info...
