Yes I did. Noted on the OEM manual. I think it would be fun this winter to pick up an old motor that isn't running for free or dirt cheap and see if I can get it going. I would rather do that to learn vs. tinkering on the one I need to use.
I still can't figure out where the issue lies in my hose though. I have my dad's and it works great but I will need to be able to use my own soon. It has a new bulb so I am going to rule that out. I think it is the fittings on the ends of the hose; they look slightly different than the ones on my dad's hose and I am wondering if maybe the previous owner used universal fittings or bought the wrong ones or something? I stuck the whole hose in a bucket of water yesterday and worked the bulb and couldn't see any bubbles at all. But after pulling the one end out and holding it to where there was just a little puddle of water above the silver ball inside the fitting I could see the water pulsing up and down when I worked the bulb. Could that be my issue?
My plan is to go buy two OMC fittings and replace them and see if that works. The hose itself seems to be in great shape. I will have $19 in the bulb and $10 in the two fittings and that is still quite a bit cheaper than buying the whole assembly together based on the prices I shopped around here.
Do you guys think the OMC fittings sold at Wal-Mart are good quality? I think they are made by Attwood. If there is a better OEM fitting available on-line I might spend more t get a better part.
no matter what I'm doing, I've got hunting or fishing on my mind...
