Learning from
past mistakes or experiences is a very
hard teacher. No matter how many times I told my children, and my grandchildren, when they were younger not to ever touch the stove because it might be hot and burn you they never learned until they touched the oven door to find out for themselves.
I too am thankful that you did not burn yourself more severely.
I also learned that what Snake River posted in the safety rules on making hot plastic lures was also true. Always watch where you set the hot plastic when you take it out of the microwave. One day I was in a hurry and did not completely check my work area. Of all things, I set that Pyrex cup down on a fish hook!
You guessed it. That cup shattered in a hundred pieces. Glass fragments and hot plastic went everywhere. Thankfully I was wearing jeans, apron, oven gloves and eye protection....but still some of it still got me. Lesson learned! Again, I join others who are thankful you did not severely get injured.
