one time i had a heavy guy use a folding chair in the front of my 14 ' jon boat he tipped over and almost put both of us in the lake he grabbed on to a tree and kept the boat from filling with water i leaned as for over the other side of the boat to keep it from tipping over he pulled himself back into boat. we bailed out the boat and retired the lawn chair. never let a unsecured seat in my boat again ,that was 50 years ago.

About 10 years ago my wife and l fished with a guide at Weiss Lake. He found 2 office chairs real cheap he took the wheels off and used them in his Astro bass boat for his customers to sit in. One was beside the console and the other was on the back deck. He would lay them on there side and tie them down when running the main engine. It was very comfortable and surprising stable due to the large base. This guide didn’t do it because of cost he had the money to buy any type of seat he wanted or a new boar just for the seats.

I bought this used. I am going to mount it to the rear deck of my boat using cooler tie downs when we're trolling. When I don't need them, undo two straps and pull them out. Its just for fishing not for running.
