    Default Anyone use freestanding chairs?

Anyone use freestanding chairs such as the ones for deer blinds? Seems like it may be more maneuverable when fishing 2 people on front deck. Not sure about the stability and height, etc.

It is not what you do for your children, but what you have taught them to do for themselves, that will make them successful human beings.

Absolutely no experience with that or ever seen it done. Is it even legal?

Not sure why it’d be illegal.

The so called spider chairs are used in a lot of trout boats out in Arkansas. I don't know of any place they are illegal to use.

A co-worker got fined and made to trailer his boat for free standing chairs. He wad anchored while catfishing. The Illinois DOC ticketed him for unsafe equipment and escorted him to his trailer.

i would only be comfortable in them on the lowest floor and only if the gunwales were higher than the seat of the chair. you never know when one big "roller" will come by and throw you out!

as someone mentioned above, i have seen them in flat bottom river boats.

    Just a thought.

At speed on the lake with any rough water and a freestanding may go airborne. The millennium side kick with the B100 seats are very maneuverable as well as same material seating as hunting chairs. Plus they hold down with the pedestal

Definitely wouldn’t hold up while running. I would be looking to use while fishing with wife and kids only.
