Second, if the sheriff told you about a drug dealer who is working with law enforcement, he lacks ethics, integrity and is just plain stupid. If the neighbor is dealing drugs out of his home, I'd suggest you call your state drug enforcement agency. Standard practice around the country would forbid an actual informant from openly committing crimes while working for law enforcement. If the sheriff is allowing drug trafficking, he could be held liable for any bad consequences associated with the drug selling. Sounds like you need a new sheriff.
