Who "rolls their own" Crappie jig heads?

I can get the lead for about 1.25 per lb. but that doesn't included the shipping costs. so the ebay buy may be your best bet. I don't make my own jigs. With college, work, kids, and fish where can I find time?

You guys that "roll your own" jigs just send me some samples. I will be glad to try them out and give a report. Hey, I am cheap. lol. A good place to buy supplies is Barlow's Tackle or Netcraft. Just remember, it is not what that is on the end of the line, it is what (or who) that is holding the line that counts! Wish I could do this jig making myself, but I am getting to damn old to tie my own shoestrings, well kinda!!!!!

Just wondering if anyone has ever melted down brass to make jigheads or is it even possible? With my job I have access to some brass and was wondering if it would work and would it be as health hazordous as lead. Seems like it would even be a color that would be attractive to fish. Also, I wonder how the weight would compare to lead, for instance if I poured it in a 1/8th oz. mold for lead would it still weigh 1/8th oz. or lighter or heavier?
