Welcome Dig, It shouldn't be long before they hit the banks. We have a full moon coming on the 27th I believe and those females that are ready should be moving shallow.
    Good luck.

Caught 41(40 whites) 8" under cork in less than 1' of water. 1/2 had eggs, so my thoughts on the full moon are going to be revised. Used our 50 shiners up, and kept catching on jigs(Blue/silver and Orange/Chartreuse).

Welcome to the forum Dig, they'll all be moving shallow before long - if not there in some places. Pmantle, I bet shiners 8" below a cork was alot of fun. Can't wait myself. Thanks for posting.

The bite was odd. We figured out too late that the fish were so shallow that we were not detecting the bites right off. Would have been better off setting the cork to 3" so they could actually sink it. I caught several when I was just going to reel in to recast. Fish on there and I had no idea. Will have three rigs this saturday:shallow cork/shiner, shallow cork/jig and nocork jig. Just bought a new Lew's 7' light action rod. Cannot wait. Two years ago this lasted 5 weeks. Last season, it never happened when i was there.

Are you fishing in saline or closer to larto bra cause I went sat and kept 15 monsters but water was muddy and only got bites in about a twenty yard stretch

Bayous off Saline. Water was pretty. I never fish Larto. I'll sometimes get as close as the cuts at Dry Larto Island.
