No problem hook bender, we had some fun trying to figure which Black Bayou you were fishing. I had never heard of that one. Sorry the lake was all choked up, I fish a lake very similar, but in a way, I like it due to the fact that I have it mostly to myself with just a few diehards like me! The hyacinth there is taking over, but at least it appears the hyacinth is clearing the water, in fact it's as clear as I have ever seen it, and I've been fishing it since I was 14 years old...... Best to ya, and lots of crappie! :D

I am going to black bayou north of monroe tommorrow. I am fishing for bass and bluegills. Try going to the very south end of the lake and dragging a weedless frog across the moss in some of the coves. As for bream go to the western side of the lake( to the right of the launch) and fish where the cypress trees start groing by the railroad. You may have to fish around for the bream, but you have a pretty good chance of finding a nice mess of huge bream. Try fishin 3-5 feet deep or if you fish shallow and find small ones, start fishing the same area deeper.

There's also a Bayou Black in the Morgan City/Houma area that produces tons of good fish. I beleve pacpopper has brought in a few hundred slabs from there this season. Ray
