    Thumbs up Whooooo Boy!!!

Well, this fat boy had a very LARGE time. Caught one bait stealer for the tournament, Melissa did as well. We threw them back and came in embarrassed and empty handed. I am grateful that y'all still let us eat! Today (Sunday), We went back and hung a few decent fish and actually LANDED some of them!!!!! With the fish that were given to us and the ones we caught, we came to Colfax with 31 decent crappie. Today,we did the drift method and it worked better than anything we had tried previously. Two rods, single jig. Thanks to T.Hunter for sharing some of his jigs with us. Also, Melissa used the crappie nibbles with the bait pump...as an experiment Randy, I didn't use the bait pump. And for the record, she got more bites and caught more fish than I did! Just wanted to stick that in there someplace! Thanks to all of you who cooked, cleaned fish, made the arraingements etc. I never knew my boat would go 55 mph until this weekend! I guess the power pack had been out even before I bought the boat. Even with some water in the gas, I got it up to 55....scared me so much, I backed off.

Default Few pics and a report.

    Well !!!!
I had a great time at this Gathering, it was so good to get to meet many of the new members for the first time and to catch up with old friends as well.
I only managed to snap a couple pics so here is a quick peak. I hade posted another pic a while back with a rainbow and that trip for me didnt turn out quite too well. BUT, this trip started off the same and here is that beautiful Rainbow that I encountered along Hwy 124 just before I drove into the Rain No worries it only lasted a bit and was all clear.

The old saying about the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow?.......well I dont know about that....... but there was a pile of FISH:D

A special thanks goes out to The Fine Folks at Uncle Bud's. Over the years they have treated the Crappie.com Crowd with outstanding service and kindness that goes far beyond the call of duty. Ms. Kathy did an outstanding job on Door Prizes and we all want to give her a special THANK YOU! So all you Crappie.com'rs if your ever Larto bound make sure and give these folks a call.

Now more about the fishing report. Some very nice fish were caught on this Larto trip and they were definetly hard to come by. As you can see from the pic above there was a pile of em, not sure about the numbers but a very good showing for a late summer tourney with weather change too boot.

I ended up keeping only 6 fish of about 20, threw back a lot of small fish and the ones I kept were more or less just for the Fry later. My colors were Orange/Chartruese & Electric Chicken with the first being the most productive. I fished several spots in the Lake as well as the Bayou at Youngbloods and even up closer to shad lake.... mostly trolling into the wind staying in 8' to 12' FOW and fishing a 4 jig set up on two different poles.

As always the Gathering was a big hit and fun enjoyed by all. The food was great and the company was even better. I hope we continue to have these gatherings and also the Tournaments. I agree on the time, maybe we can make it a bit longer for the next one, it was a rush trying to end by 11 am but it all worked out just fine.

Congrats to all the winners at the Tourney and to all the door prize reciepients. Can't wait till the next one!!!!!!!

Cool rainbow pic Brandon, it actually looks like a double rainbow. Isn't that another one just to the right, or my eyes still trying to wake up this morning? Thanks for the pics, I brought a camera and never took it out.

Default Couple of pictres. . .

I think I am gonna have to buy my Aunt Louise a new electric knife after yesterday. I think I overheated hers. It was kinda smokin before I got finished with those fish! I went off and left my Cabela's electric knife at the house. Thanks again to all of you who gave us fish, shared jigs, information and friendship. Y'all are all like family to me and Melissa.

Not all ours but we were proud of them any way!
