    Anyone haveing any luck on Barren?

    I saw where they have been pulling the heck out of it...

    I havent been fishing since turkey season started. I just cant help myself.

    Thought I might hit it once or twice before the tags go out.LOL.

    Usually don't tag it till fall.

    Fished with a friend from 6 to 12:30 saturday. Put in at State Park. Didn't catch the first fish until 8:30 or so. Caught on a minna under a bobber 6 foot deep in 10 foot of water. Big dark male white crappie 11 1/2". Caught a black crappie later in the day with a ky lake rig up against a standing tree about 9 3/4". Only keeper crappie caught. We may have caught 3 or 4 smaller fish either on minnas or throwing slider grubs.

    Lake still high but just barely in trees on really slow sloping banks. Surprised agian by how clear the water seemed. Visibilty was nearly 4 foot where we were fishing. Temp was 57 at 6. When we left it was near 60.

    Guess the crappie season is about over just like the turkey and mushroom season.

    Time to do the summer hibernation thing.....Sit and daydream of the days to come...in about Oct.

    Man I hate the summer!
