I posted an article on my blog, last November, that might be helpful to you.

    Favorite Threads

Let me add that I prefer Ultra Thread 70 for collared jigs of 1/16 of an ounce or less. One-forty is my favorite for anything larger, regardless if collared.

Coats makes a strong 60/40 Nylon/Polyester metallic thread. The colors are promising. Here's a photo of some bass jigs I tied recently where both metallic and machine embroidery thread (trilobal polyester) are used.

I use a bit of 210 but these jigs are all tied with U.T.C. 140 deneir flat waxed red
thread. I tried a spool of 140 Danville in red and seemed to have a little less strength. ole giller

I use synthetic craft fur almost exclusively for my crappie jigs. So, I use danville 210 flat waxed thread. I can pull it real tight without breakin the thread.

Guess I am really old School. I use eather Danville or Gudebrod A in red. I like the Gudebrod in a 1 oz. Spool and a large bobbin I can tie a ton of jigs with a 1 oz. spool. Red is my favorite color.
