    Yes sir it is a Carp and yes it is edible with certain qualifications. The cooler and cleaner the water the better. You need to scale them Then filet them. At that point you can brine them and smoke them. You can filet and skin to smoke but they may crumble on you if they are on the smaller side. You can also score (cut 2/3rds of the way thru from inside out towards the skin every 1/2 inch of the length) then dry dredge them in your favorite mix and deep fry til GBD (Golden Brown & Delicious). Add Hushpuppies and slaw and the feedbag is on.
    And then throw them in the trash can, lol sorry could help, I remember a old fella years ago gave me dtailed instructions on how to fix carp but it ended with (then throw them in the trash) no carp for this boy

    I've had pickled carp and it was excellent!
    Roaming the banks of the Kankakee River and anywhere else fish might lurk.
