Jaemon, did you get to make it down this weekend? I went out on Thursday. The south wind and clear skies kept me from getting anything to work.. Did come up with a few nice 'gills though. Can't say that I've ever caught a gill this early in the year. Caught the gills in Elk's cove where the water temps were in the upper 50s. They were laid up close to the shore.

Yes I did. Fished Sat - Monday. Had to buy a fish sandwich on the way home! Caught a few nice ones during the all day rain on Saturday. Did not catch any Sunday and they were very shy on Monday. I got a lot of spots marked but did not clean any. Seemed to be the same for everyone. Water near the spillway was 61 and it was down to 48 up the south end creek arms. Saw some guys catching shorts in the warm water with slip corks near the bank. Heard lots of complaining.....The fish I did catch were at about 8-10 feet in 14 fow with temps in mid fifties. Wish I had a better report.

Ok, had the tournament over the weekend. Weather sucked. That is as kind as I can be about it. We finished in 8h place in the AM division. Caught all of our quality fish in 20-25 FOW near the bottom on minnows. Heard of teams fishing as deep as 40 FOW with success. I went prepared with slip corks ready to fish shallow but ....

Most of our fish came 16 ft to 20 ft of water. In the morning we fished the mid part of the lake shallow with a cork and jig. On long points that came way out in a back of a bay. We got out there early and when we arrived at the spot we noticed a boat already siting there! Bam... the King himself Sean Hawkins... So we headed to our second spot... Still was a nasty windy snowy brutal 2 days of fishing!!
