    Default Trolling motor help?

I am looking for advice between the V2 and Terrova.
What are the differences between the two?

Also, I want sonar, but don't need ipilot. I would like autopilot, but could live with copilot.

I want to have a better trolling situation than the hand control bow mount I have been using.
    Thanks

Terrova has much more to offer, I went from V2 to terrova this fall. Go ahead and spend the extra money, it is well worth it. Sonar, spot lock/anchor, and trace your path is on terrova.

will the v2 not do pretty much the same as the terrova if both have IP?? With v2, can't use/have a foot pedal (remote only with IP) on the v2 while with terrova you can have/use both the foot pedal/remote

If you don't want I Pilot, but would like or prefer co-pilot or auto pilot, then get the cheaper of the two with co-pilot or auto pilot. IP is nice, and I have it on my Terrova, but could live with CP or AP. If you troll/longline/pull or push, setting the speed/direction, etc., is great and very handy, and frees you up to change colors, re-tie, get a drink, take a leak, etc., and not worry about hitting anything. AP or CP is just not quite as sophisticated as IP.
    GO BIG ORANGE !

I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.

Terrova hands down. You will love I-PILOT once you have it. Here are a few key questions. What size boat are you putting the motor on? Do you troll for miles and miles like I do? Do you fish in windy conditions? Do you fish new lakes? If your answer is yes to any or most of these questions go with the Terrova! Either way do not short yourself on the pounds of thrust. I have a 80 pound 24 volt I-PILOT on my Ranger.

Carl, both are great motors. The Terrova is more expensive than the V2. I-Pilot seems to be a good choice with more options than Auto Pilot. The only draw back I have found with the I-Pilot is that it is a little slow to respond if you are trolling into the wind and the winds picks up. I guess it's according to how much money you want to spend. Your boat would do fine with a 55# thrust motor, but you would like the 24 Volt 70# thrust better, but that's the expense of a 2nd battery. The least expensive way to get what you want would be to go with a 55# thrust V2 PowerDrive with Auto Pilot. Doesn't cost much more to buy one with I-Pilot. The Terrova will be the most expensive between the 2, but you'll love either one.

Are you saying that the response time is different with the power drive and terrova??

Got a V2 on my boat and with the homemade box for speed and control, I love it. But if I ever get a new one then I will go with I pilot
