I will mostly fish Talquin and some at Blackshear this year. I am a weekend warrior most of the fall-winter season.

I have a 17' aluminum G3. For the $$ I am looking at the V2 for $600. It has the foot pedai and can be adapted for co-pilot.
I would have to rig the sonar by wire the old fashioned way.

If I was retired like RAWHIDE and had his $$ I would go all out on the Terrova for $1600. I could fish more.

One question, which one is easier to deploy?

Before you buy.....CHECK WITH OKEFENOKEE OUTDOORS IN HAZELHURST GA! They are on line and you can call them as well. I got a V2 for my rig...12 volt 55lb with I pilot for $802. to my door! gps lock nav..cruise control ...spot lock...set it and forget it kinda deal....Just ask mnt man how he likes his instead of trying to long line with a foot pedal! The NAV setting is my favorite...pick a line...hit the button...BUDDY THAT'S WHERE YOUR GOING TILL YOU CHANGE YOUR MIND!

Go with the Auto Pilot V2....Otherwise you will be constantly be changing the direction of the trolling motor to stay on course. You want the capability of moving around the boat without worrying about the boat wandering towards , let's say, shallow water when you want to stay in the channel...Otherwise, you may as well keep what you have...If you don't go with the I-Pilot, you'll regret not going with the Auto Pilot....Just my

I have the iPilot on my Triton and I love it. It is one of the best things I ever bought for the boat. It stays on course and I can handle stuff in the boat without worrying that I am turning into a dock. I fish with my wife a lot and I have to help her. The only problem is I have a spare remote and she wants to wear it so she can steer too. That scares me. LOL. I use the cruise control sometimes and it works well but it is slow to bump up the speed if the wind is blowing hard. I love the GPS tracking. I think it is worth ever penny I spent on it. Good luck with your choice, Wes

Terrova is easiest to deploy and faster response. You want an ipilot for long lining Talquin, it controls speed and direction. You can usually find a used v2 with ipilot around 600. Or add ipilot later instead of copilot.

So I will get either the auto pilot or ipilot.

So the V2 comes with ipilot and copilot?

I may just mortgage my house and get the Terrova with everything.

I have had and used them all. Spend more time fishing with a hand controlled 24 V vari speed motor.

Oh yea, you also catch more fish.

So you fish with a hand control? Man, from my experience you work harder. Why do you think you catch more fish?

I found I was working more with the hand control and not fishing. Hell, I have lost bite(fish) working with that remote. It was a toy and not a fishing tool.
