My understanding is up to 25 is legal. Though, from my experimenting more than doubles are less effective. Less action and a lot of drag in the water longlining. Works better spider rigging.
I've searched the Florida fish and game site and can't figure it out. The question is, can I put 3 jigs on one line? I know many people including myself use double rigs, but are triple rigs illegal. Just asking, partly cause I need all the help and hooks and jigs I can use on the lake I refer to as the Dead Sea! Griffin! Lol

You can use as many as you want to. Usually 2 jigs per pole only applies to tournaments. Longlining doubles can get pretty hectic and I don't even want to attempt anymore than 2....But I aint a Guber![]()
You can use unlimited number or jigs - hooks per rod, same as number of rods is unlimited - its what is practical
for your use and any one time.....................
Lots of state restrict a person to number of rods -number of baits per rod etc. Florida has no restriction.
I have pulled triples and it is a pain in the arse. When I did i found best to run with a 1/16oz up top and next a 1/32oz middle and followed by a gnat type bait. But lots more tangles.
Thanks all. I think I'll pull a couple 25 hook trot lines with jigs. Maybe I'll snag something! Might be the only way I can catch something here on Griffin! lol, and j/k
Thanks all. I was just curious. Yeah, anything over 2 jigs would prolly be a pita.

I hear you, but it's just too darn convenient when you live right on the water. I don't fish for meat anyway, I fish for pics. Really just need one good fish a trip! lol
Yeah, I mooch a trip with Shu or Speckanator when it gets real bad. Or I just take the boat out of the water if I get desperate enough.
