Things like that happen sometimes.
With my wife’s health issues I haven’t been able to get to the lake lately so I was in a hurry when I found out for sure I could go Saturday night. Anyway I got to the ramp & the screw for my aftermarket perspective mount had came out & was lying on the front deck so I stuck it back on & took off down the lake. I realized pretty quick like that I couldn’t see my jig in the dirty water so I cranked up the gain etc. Then I went to a 1/4 oz. jig all the while thinking the dirty water was causing me these problems until I went to look for something that I thought was in the water in that area & I turned my pole mount around when all of a sudden there was my jig sticking out like a sore thumb. To make a long story short when I reattached the transducer to the pole mount I liked a couple clicks getting it up enough & was picking up off the back side of the transducer. I felt like an idiot but fixed it when I got home before hitting the hay though. If I had taken the time to look I had a pic of my install on my phone & would have been fine if I’d just have looked.

Yeah ... I put my LS tdx on facing backwards once. Took me a minute or two to realize why the cover I wanted to fish was going away from me, instead of coming towards me.
You get excited to go and that's when Murphy's Law kicks in. And yes, I've pulled about all the dumb tricks when it comes to going fishing ... left boat key home, left tackle box home, launched boat w/o plug being in, tried to launch boat with transom straps still attached, you know ... all the "normal" screwups that getting excited & in a hurry causes.

I have put in without a plug, left keys on to main motor and forgot about the TM and started paddling with a 24in paddle for a few minutes before my wife reminded me about the TM. Forgotten to power my electronics because I forgot what their power source was for a whole trip. Forgotten baits, minnows, water you name it.

Yep I got to talking to another boater at the ramp, Took one tie down off the back but not the other. Well you know the rest of that while I tied up the ramp for a bit. Old people are fun to watch.
