I had a hand held doing that. I restored factory default settings and that fixed it. Also make sure you have current software in it. It should be 2.5.0

I did a hard reboot. Do I still have to restore factory default settings even after doing that? It's still not working correctly after the reboot. The software version is 1.3. I found the update and have an SD card, I'll try that, too.

    Thanks!

If I remember correctly a hard reboot restores factory settings.

Hard reset restores defaults and also removes waypoints.

Yes, it sure did delete the waypoints, but we had those stored so that's not an issue. The issue is that the GPS unit is still NOT responding. Haven't had time to do the update yet, tho.

    Default Lcx 28c

I have the same unit and it will not power up. Changed power cord, cleaned contacts, still does not come on.

Have you checked you NMEA connections? I had my LCX27 not respond and the problem was a bad terminator connection. I have lcg4000 hooked to the LCX27.

The sonar part works great. How can I tell if the terminator is bad? The more details you have for me, the better.

Currently we have LGC 3000 with a red connector.

A buddy has one a few years newer and the back of his monitor is totally different with "fins" on the back for cooling. We do have overheating issues with it if the sun is out and it's glaring off the windshield. But all these issues are happening when the monitor is shaded. The puck is out in the open, though.
