Default Lowrance LCX 28C GPS problems

Have had intermittent problems with the GPS side of the unit for the last few months and it frequently has the "GPS module not responding" type of message. The sonar part works perfectly. Ideas?

    Thanks!

Have the same problem as an intermittant, seems to be in the power cable where it plugs into the head, WD40 helps sometimes and a 'wiggle' helps sometimes. Think its corrosion from boat setting out in the rain.--shu

Ours is not in the rain. I did try cleaning the plugs and applying a thin film of dilectric "grease" and thought that fixed it as it worked for about 3 hours nonstop but now back to its old tricks again. Wiggling the cables doesn't do a thing for it. Thanks for the response!

Might be the other end of the connection Sis. Or it could be from non use of c.c.

Have same problem, "GPS module not responding." Called them and they said I could send it in, they could charge me $60 bench fee and send it back with nothing wrong or I could just buy a new puck somewhere (not made anymore) or I could trade it up to the next best model for 3billion bucks. They didn't seem surprised at the problem and offered nothing to help. On the bright sde it did work for 1 season. Last one I purchase... ever.

Yeah, bet this will fix it lickety split. NOT!~ Had a smaller Lowrance on the front. Removed it's puck, plugged in on this one and Voila! It works. So I need another puck that works. (Hey I figured that out ALL by myself!!! ) LGC 3000 with a red connector is what is currently not working. What can I use as a replacement? Preferable a NEW part!

    Thanks!

PS How can I tell it's really you, WB...?
