Yes as long as it is an .usr file. One from a HB would not work unless it was converted. A site like GPS Babel can do that.

The older lowrance units was a GPS format, these new ones read a gpx format, u can run them through a program that converts them, just do a little digging on the web and there are plenty of free ones

I have just installed one of these units on my boat. Yesterday is the third time the unit was turned on. The first time the temp gauge worked well. The last two times the temp only flashes and reads 32.0 degrees. Has anyone else had this problem? I did not see anything in the manual about this.

Sounds like a bad transducer to me. Any chance it hit anything while in the water?

Call Lowrance and see what steps they recommend. May have to swap the unit out where you purchased it.

Thanks. They're from a Humminbird unit so it looks like I'll have to run them through the translator.

I just joined crappie.com to thank all you guys who've contributed to these 56 pages over the last year or so. I've been contemplating purchasing a Lowrance Elite 5 dsi but couldn't find any good real life reviews. That is, until I stumbled upon this site. I've learned more here in the past few night's reading than I could have hoped for anywhere else. I pulled the trigger today and ordered an Elite 5 dsi, a Tallon Elite mount, and a Navionics card. Happy Father's Day to me! LOL.
I live in western Washington state, and have always been a trout and salmon guy. But also having a vacation place on the other (dry) side of the state where there is plenty of walleye, bass and panfish lakes, I just may have to give this crappie thing a go. I'll be doing a lot of reading and learning here.

Rickomatic ... do you have a printer ?? Best thing I can tell you is to print this thread & then go back & highlight all the "specific info" you may want to look at again.

It's what I did with the Operations Manual, all 45 pages of it.

Doh! I didn't even think about that pappie....ha. I get so caught up in this electronic stuff I forget that we can actually read stuff on paper. I think I'll print it put and put it in a 3 ringed binder. Meanwhile, I did download the emulator, and will play around with that.
