Last week I tried a new blend for the fellowship dinner at church, they ate every last bit and told be it was even better than the previous recipe. Here is what I changed. The crappie was prepared the same way as above, but the mix is a little different. Use 2-8oz cream cheese softened, 1 1/2 cups miracle whip, 1 tbl hickory flavored liquid smoke, 2 tbl lime juice. To this add 2 minced jalopenos, 6 stalks diced celery, 1/2 large red onion diced fine, 1/2 cup parsley flakes, 1/4 tsp onion powder and garlic powder, and one tbl tapatio hot sauce. Lastly fold in the shredded smoked fish. Let this mixture rest in the fridge overnight to let the flavors meld, then serve with your favorite crackers. You can also sprinkle some papreka on the top for some color.
