Now that our home waters are back down to normal and I have my minner live box fixed up and ready for residents I think I'll give em a go this week on some fairly clear waters myself, not quite as clear as the TAW but still tough to catch much off of. I've seen crappie like those and wondered if it was near misses from the over populated gar or what? I'd think a good load of bird shot would take care of those pesky gars?
The clear lakes aren't that bad once you figure them out... Ouachita is the only lake I fish, you just gotta find those sweet spots... Normally once you find em they'll bite. I throw out brush piles once a year or so, that helps quite a bit.
