    • How is that? We floated the Spring for the first time this weekend and I was a little disappointed. Been thinking about the Little Red, but not sure if it is a good idea for beginners? I have been on the river in a boat a few times, any advice?

Better check water levels cause alot of the rivers are extemely low. They generate certain hours and would be good idea to hit it with water flowing.
Spring River has Trout but also warm water fish like Walleyes, Bass, and Catfish. Which float did you take? They say it gets crowded in warm weather. I fished for Trout years ago in winter up near the hatchery, we always did good.

They are not generated much here on the lil Red but you will not have to pull many place if any. Trout fishing is decent year 'round.

If you have never been on a river that has water releases from the dam, go with someone who knows the river the first time you go. The Little Red is not that hard to navigate, but for safety's sake, find someone to go with you the first time.
As far as the fishing, it's good if you like trout!

The spring is a haven for idiots. I;ve been a member of the arkansas canoe club for years never floated the little red but the Quachita from jones mill to rockport or rockport to grigsby ford can be a decent fishing float early in the day no generation

Here's what you're looking for on releases on Greers. I've never done it but if I was gonna do it I'd start at Lobo Landing and float to Dripping Springs. Far enough from the dam and you would get to see plenty of river.

Cool thanks. I've rented cabins at lobo, do they charge to launch a boat there?
