Don't know about teachin you much but would try if givin a chance. How about swaping trips if you'd like to fish Nimrod. We catch numbers but few real hogs. I've fished with alot of good fishermen on this site if ya need references. LOL LOL

Put me down as a reference. Fished with Nimrod on his home lake (Nimrod) and the man can catch fish! It's not a matter of whether, but how many and what size do you want to keep. Treat yourself to a day on the water with Nimrod if you have the chance. Thumbs Up

I would be willing to trade a trip with you here on Greers. From now until May we can longline troll jigs then as the water warms we can troll cranks.

sounds like a plan to me! cant promise you a big fish on the cadron but we might get lucky. heck i cant even promise i can put you on fish! if i went out there 5 times i probably wouldnt catch crappie but once out of the 5 times but when i do there is usually some good fish. i figure that someone that knows how to locate them would stand a better chance than me of catching them big ones. i just get lucky and find them now and then. how i have found them before is i would be out catfishing and while waiting on a bite i will throw some jigs and get lucky. have also looked for underwater log jams on tight bends in the creek. seems like the colder the better for them jams. another good spot after a rain is where there is water draining out of the rice fields into the creek. toss your jig in there and u might catch a crappie, bass, white bass, catfish, drum....just about anything, but they are usually stacked up.

Nimrod, i have seen that you have your boat down right now, so if you get the itchin to go just hollar and i will take you out on the cadron or the river. i have a 21 foot boat that will run in 6" of water with a HB color 2D, gps and down imaging, and an ipilot TM . that should be all we need.

Creekslick, thank you for the offer and i will take you up on that. you guys dont even have to trade a trip with me, just come and lets figure out these cadron crappie is ok with me, although i would like to fish your lakes also. i really think there is a record crappie in the cadron because i have caught several big ones but the only one i had weighed was about 10 or 12 years ago and it was a monster that we weighed on a meat scale at a convinence store at 4lbs and 1 oz. the ones i have caught recently werent as heavy as that fish but they were big.

Whats the best way to get on the creek coming from Maumelle? How are the ramps? I have a pretty good sized boat but only 2wd truck.

come to conway, get off at the 65 exit, go back under the over pass and take the old morrilton hwy (hwy 64) about a quarter mile to hwy 25. take 25 towards wooster. you will go a few miles and pass lake beaver fork then another mile to the cadron creek. the ramp sucks. you can use it on high water but when the water level is normal your better off to put in next to the ramp in the gravel. i usually am in my 2wd truck with a 21' boat and have not got stuck. there is another ramp on the other side of wooster that i have used many times but a lot of people have had their trucks broke into there. if you put in at hwy 25 be careful navigating the creek. the water is usually less than 5' until you get quite a ways from the bridge . try to stay in the channel and slow down on the tight bends because there is a lot of stumps under the surface if you get out of the narrow channel. i havent really ever hit anything but i have sure looked out of the side of the boat and seen stumps just under the waters surface.

another notible mention is that this creek rises with just minor rain. i bet it was up 4' after yesterdays rain. easier to launch in the high water but there is a lot of debris floating and the water is really stained.
