Good idea. May change my launch method. Been tying the bow line off for many years and this was the first time I’ve let this happen

BOAT = Bust Out Another Thousand but just think when you get all the latest and greatest you will the big dawg on da water ! With all the new toys anyway ! You may not catch more fish but you will catch some eyes with all that nice equipment! Oh and they are some 16’ poles and browning reels for sale in the c.c classifieds
I can't buy em, I'm saving up for a robotic trolling motor. Are we getting close to the time in history when the machines take over?

I don't know if I need to buy one of the Ulterras or not. I got the Helix Mega, and still can't catch crappie, so now I'm gonna buy a trolling motor with Artificial Intelligence, and if I don't catch crappie then, well I'm out of excuses!

I remember when I bought my first new boat back several years ago. I was alone on a very cold morning. I think the temperature was in the teens. I had a rope and clip and backed the boat off into the water and the clip came undone. It was a bit breezy and the boat was quickly heading out. Luckily I had several layers of clothes on. I stripped down to the bottom layer as quick as I could and dove in. I was able to swim fast enough to catch it and crawled over the side. Like you I looked around to make sure nobody saw me. I took the wet clothes off, layered back up, and went fishing.

Swimming for your boat is a very bad idea and yes it is hard to watch it float out of sight but think it would be much harder on my wife and daughter to stand on the back waiting for someone to find my body.

I agree Rees, but sometimes you do not think correctly when you see your passion drifting away.

I launch with a rope a lot of times when by myself and when their isn’t a dock to tie too and I alway keep my rope checked but if it ever breaks (and it has before) I ant going swimming for it especially in 60 degree water or less . I love my boat but I’m in love with me a whole lot more !
