I have owned a Link since it was available and used it a good bit this last year following contours and such, to me it's worth it but you have to take a little time to learn it. The Ulterra and the newer version has a smaller remote and the screen on the remote shows depth as well because of the Link. I have been surprised how much I use that. I fish a ton this spring along the levy on one of our local lakes, troll for over a mile without touching the unit due to the cruise control and the follow the link. Pretty handy when fishing alone or with clients in the boat.
Sounds nice buddy.

How do you know those are crappie on your screen?? I've seen that pic on my fish finder a lot, but zero luck catching them. Also, how would you catch something like that?
Spider rig. Or long line. Would be best bet. 95 percent sure they are crappie on my lake. That's bout the only thing we have in that big a group
YaBoyMaxWeezy thanked you for this post
also, how and where do decided to set your brush piles??? Is there a method to your madness or do you just place them in different depths and hope they are holding at certain depth?
We are building a house at smith lake and i would like to start setting some out but just didn't know if there was any rhyme or reason behind it?
thanks for the help!

Back at the end of November I launched on the River and my bow line was loose. By my self as usual with no one else at the launch. Extremely foggy that morning and it didn’t take but a minute before the boat was drifting out of site. No time to ponder over it so I stripped to my underwear and hit the water. Couldn’t pull myself up into the boat so I swam it back to the ramp. Good thing I have big feet and I’ve always been a strong swimmer. Got out of the water and put my dry clothes back on and looked around to see if anyone had seen me then I went fishing. This will be our little secret
Every day is a holiday and every meal is a picnic.
I don't do the rope think. I just give the strap a little slack, back in till the boat is almost floating and craw in the front of the boat.
