You might look in to the Dolgo crab apple line. We've had one for many years and have put up many a jar of jelly from it.

I have tried to buy that variety several times and it's always sold out. My friend's Grandfather planted one at his home. My friend inherited the house but sold it right before I ask him for Scion cuttings. Supposedly this winter they are going to let me get cuttings. If I strike out I would love to get some from you. I have apple tree rootstocks and they graft so easy you can almost throw a scion and the rootstock and it will take. Cuttings are from last years new growth, real easy to do.

Looked really quick and found this if interested and things don’t work it.

If you were nearby I'd tell you to come and take cuttings. I wouldn't know the correct stuff or how to pare it off so it would grow again.

The Crab Apple trees I bought last year was from Willis, they sold out so fast the last 3 years. This year it's muscadines. I attended a clinic yesterday put on by MS State Extension / MSU / US Dept of Agriculture for growing Muscadines. It was Awesome. The cost to ship one tree I could end up $60+ all in so if I can't buy one local it will have to wait till next year. The Crab Apple trees I bought for this year are doing great considering the drought here. 6poundtest, it is so easy to cut sticks during the winter you can't screw it up. The reason I started this post is to help other members grow produce and fruit at home. I have 6 new cultivars of Muscadines ordered already for this year and am planning on constructing 400-500 feet of Trellis for planting this fall.

I’d love to had gotten my grandparents place. They had a couple each muscadine and scuppernong vines. We ate them directly off the vine! Didn’t last long enough to make anything else……lol
