Hope everything is going well with your wife. Very uncomfortable I’m sure. If I go I’ll take pics to ease your cabin fever. I don’t do well with it either.
Hope all went well for your wife, gill. I have some work coming up and will be depending on my wife to keep an eye on me.

Better half is slowly getting better each day .
This evening she said I should go fishing while she had a nap .
The Pond is the only place available that’s close enough that if she needed me I could be home in ten minutes.
It’s been about three weeks and we’ve had very little rain since my last visit .
Temps were in the mid 80’s today . What happened to Spring?
The area I usually fish stunk . Probably from all of the geese at the pond , but it smelled like a dirty wet dog .
The water was full of algae. The pond , even though the town aerates it had become a little stagnant when the higher temps and no rain .
I first tried a dropshot rig with a Bobby garland itty bitty swimmer, but I couldn’t keep the algae off it . Tried a float rig , same results .
I went to a 1/64 jighead with the swimmer body just casting around and without any takers , decided to swap sides and fish the dam .
After one missed bite , I switched over to a Bobby Garland Itty Bitty slab Hunter on a 1/64 jighead .
I was surprised how the little 5’ Chinese Amazon UL rod was casting the light jigs . I was getting over sixty feet casts with the 2# P-line .
I did manage to catch one pretty little bluegill on the slab Hunter to keep the skunk away .
Felt good to have a little me time .

I got to spend an hour and a half this morning at the pond .
Got there around 10:30 and headed home at noon .
I changed up my choice of rod/reel combo today , opting to take my 7’ Daiwa Procyon UL paired with my Daiwa Legalis LT 1000 , loaded with 2# P-line .
A two piece rod that I can breakdown to carry in the RAV4.
The longer rod was nice . Before the wind picked up , I was almost doubling my cast from yesterday. But I was using a 1g jighead instead of the 1/64th I used yesterday. That helped .
Lure was the same , a Bobby Garland Itty Bitty slab Hunter .
On my first cast I got a couple of tail nippers. It was around cast five I hooked into a small redear that put a nice bend in the long rod .
I ended up only catching four gills , but the small LM bass gave me a lot of enjoyment. I think I was able to land six of them from 6-12” . Perfect UL fun fish .
I think I’ve found a new favorite plastic bait in the BG Itty Bitty slab Hunter .
A good trip with enough fish to make it interesting. Glad you got out and moms confident enough to tell you to go, a very good start. If you have a minute, please post a pic of the Itty bitties that you use. I use the swimmers and slab slayers with good results. The slab hunter is new to me. Thanks in advance.
