Once again, gill, good trip out and nicely colored fish! We are coming off some real storms up here in SE PA that have blown out my local creek, but it needed this to cleanse the bottom of winter snot. I’ll be out chasing them in a few days! I need to try and catch up with you guys!

Been a few days since I’ve had a chance to chase gills at the town pond.
    I guess they’ve forgotten me .
I spent an hour there this evening and didn’t get a nibble .
With a full moon coming up , the gills have probably moved on me .
That’s why they don’t call it catching .

I’m gonna chase them today, gill. I have to bank fish as I have had some recent pre op diagnostics and can’t risk falling in or doing anything stupid. The word from the boss is if you do don’t bother coming home! Today is the day I hope to get off the schnide. We have a beautiful day with great temps and sun at your back! I can’t wait to get out there!

Decided to try midday at the pond today , thinking the walkers and other fishermen would be less of a problem.
And the forecast was calling for an increase in wind this afternoon.
I took my 5’4” SC Panfish . I paired it up with the new Daiwa Legalis LT 2000s spooled with 2# P-Line .
First I tried a 1/64 jighead with Bobby garland itty bit swimmer. Mainly to check for casting distance, but hoping to catch something.
Distance was ok , but I’m not sure if it’s that much further than a 1000 Legalis with the same line . Catching wasn’t much either . I started smelling a skunk like yesterday .
I tried a small piece of watermelon seed plastic worm on the 1/64 jighead , hooked wacky style .
    Again nothing .
I then switched over to a tiny jig spinner using the same jig combo , hoping the flash and vibration would at least attract a small LM . Nothing .
I packed up my stool and changed location to the dam side and tried the worm again , but no luck .
So I rigged up the jig and BG Itty bit swimmer drop shot style and was getting some light hits , tail nippers .
Then finally I hook a small LM that on the third jump , threw the jig back at me .
I stuck with the drop shot rig and wound up losing another and then caught a small LM and a small bluegill before it was time to go .

Great report and photos, gill. It’s exciting when a smallie gets to jumping and even an air mail return is something to see (although disappointing!) I broke the ice on Wednesday with 4 little pans bank fishing. Bison TM under an ez float, 2 lb gamma panfish and my trusty TSS with the Legalis 1000. That reel is very smooth.

Glad you got a few Bob, love my TSS too. Went salty the last two weekends and won’t do that again for a while. Maybe some pics of my trip this weekend.

It’s going to be awhile before I can get back to the pond or any waters .
Better half had neck/spine surgery last Thursday and I’m having to play nurse .
Hopefully after the 28th when I take her in for stitches out and evaluation.

You guys are going to have to post pictures and let me go along with you on your trips .
