Anyone looking for a deal Geared in Hot Springs running a special. Call or pm Evan Barnes on facebook , tell him I told you for a discount offer on 9'' garmin and livescope . Livescope works , proof is in the pudding . Lately I see more serious fishermen using one than ones without one .

Limit or not any time that is spent on water is time well spent!

I will try something like a weedless jig or solid plastic on rare occasion . If you like weedless jigs Timmy Tom makes some good ones . If you think I am not serious about using same bait over 90% of the time ask anyone who has fished with me or look in my boat if you ever see me on the water or boat ramp.
I believe you. I do the same thing. I have confidence in my favorite jig. As long as its catching fish I see no need/reason to switch up. But I listen to all these guys talking about switching up colors by cloudiness or water temp or clarity or whatever. Just glad to know there’s another “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it” guy out there.

Umbrella tubes on Timmy Tom jig heads . I only use plastic but have noticed some snubbing their nose at my jigs . Today was rough in west wind with low 20's to start and water temp about 40 ! Took lots of looking and hard work but culled a limit . So slow had me thinking about experimenting with small hair jigs or possiably a minnow. But can't do it !

At the risk of going too far.... would you post a pic of the umbrella tube and jig head combo you use? Timmy Tom has lots of options on their web site.

Some can't believe I use bigger baits but the myth Crappie eat tiny baits is fading more ever year . This Sunfish from a stomach of a fish I caught compared to a bait shows this . This is not near the biggest I have seen . Have see Crappie with Yellow Bass and Bluegill so big hung in their throats they choked and floated on the surface .

I'll second the big baits work. The bigger the bait the harder the thump most of the time. This is only about a 10" crappie. Down sizing baits for me is usually a 2.5" to 2" bait.Name: 20190715_181416.jpg
