SKUNKED!!!!
Dang it!!!!
Yesterday afternoon I just had a short time to fish. I felt like I had it dialed in as I left the water. I caught one nice crappie right where I expected him to be. I was certain I would go back out this morning with more time to spend on the water and do pretty well.... Skunked!!!! This crappie are flippin tricky!!!!
I'm becoming convinced crappie aren't interested in eating until about two and a half hours after sunrise.
Based on the war zone sounds of the shot guns all around me..... the duck hunters were having much better luck than me.

Crappie fishing is like dealing with any other wildlife. What WE think they should be thinking isn't always what THEY are thinking.
I went deer hunting back in early December and saw no deer, but the squirrels were all over the place. So I went back the next day with my shotgun and not a squirrel to be found, but I kept seeing deer during my walk through the woods. Typical.
Pretty days when you just know the fish are gonna be eating it up are when you usually strike out. Those days like "oh they probably won't bite, but I'm going anyway" is when you hit em hard.
Good luck to you. If you ever figure them out (or women either for that matter), let us all know.
