I'll make a video tomorrow from boot up, go through some menu items and shut down, using the 2.00 software.

    kosmo,
So how long do you estimate that it took you it actually perform the update itself (once you had the software unzipped and on the SD memory card)? The instructions say that it should take 15 minutes.

I know that this update is unlike any we have done before and there are a lot of warnings. I know that I’m going to have to borrow a memory card to update mine as I don’t have a 4GB class 6 or larger/faster memory card.

I read the instructions and I thought it said closer to 30 minutes?

I have always unplugged everything but the power cord for all brands and have had one issue. I updated a customers Onix awile back and forgot to unplug the external antenna. It locked up but I was able to restart it. I won't make that mistake again.... lol

It will be this weekend before I can even think about updating.

The unit does seem to respond a bit better than before the update, but the boot time seems to be either unchanged or very slightly quicker

Boot time is down about 8 seconds, so not much. The main changes I saw was on the chart screens and also on the 4 pane view. It loads up very fast compared to the old version.

No more bottom jumping around when you go from deep water to a hump. That was very annoying.

One thing you might want to do is restore defaults just in case. Save all your settings to the SD card and then restore away. Mine got faster once I did that.
