    Default Perception Sport Pescador Kayak

I am looking to buy my first kayak for fishing.
I have been looking at the Perception Sport Pescador 12' kayak for me. I am 6'4 and 250 lbs. I sat in one at Academy Sports and kinda liked it.
Anyone own one of these kayaks and how well do the do for fishing?
    Thanks

It is the old WS tarpon. Paddles well and fishes ok. My only dislike is the seat. It is fine for awhile but after a couple hours it gets to be uncomfortable and you have no way to change position. It is also a very wet seat too, making it cold in the winter.

I've got one and my brother does as well. No problems whatsoever. Love these yaks and for the money they're great. If you have a problem with water coming through the scupper holes just plug them. I use foam golf balls from Wal-Mart, works perfectly, dry as a bone.

I've used the yak everywhere. Rivers, ponds and lakes. Works great. My brother is a BIG dude and it handles him just fine. Seat may bother some but I don't really have a problem with it.

I have a turkey seat from dicks sporting goods in my pescador and it helps a lot. Scupper plugs are cheap and academy has em. This was my first sot kayak had a vapor like this one a lot better.

Very nice yak for sure. Majority of kayak rentals down here use them.

    Thanks for the input.
I bought that kayak, and just waiting for the weather to get a little better to take it out. I know it is almost December, but in Southern Indiana, it can get to 55 so may have to try and take it out.
    Thanks

    OK,
Now that I have the Kayak, I am a beginner that will be fishing lakes. I am 6'4 tall, which paddle would be a good one for me to start off on?
I will probably be getting it from Academy sports here in town. I want to start off with an average paddle instead of sinking a ton of money in a paddle right off.
Ant help on the paddle would be great.
Also, guys who have this kayak, did you add a rod holder in the front in the area by the cupholder?
    Thanks

I haven't added a cup holder. As far as paddles go I don't think it makes a huge difference unless you're really wanting to cut down on a little weight etc. I've used $45 paddles and I've used $90 paddles. I can't tell a bit of difference. The more expensive one has a rubber grip which I love. It's not as cold in the winter. The main difference to me is the length. My opinion would be to go with a 235 or 240.
