I agree. I wouldn't drill holes at all until you've been fishing in it several times and make SURE that's what you want to do. Less is more on the water. Too much is a big hassle.
Here ya go Kayak Paddle Length - Picking the Right Size | How To Articles - Paddling.net that is a start. But I agree with above on the 240cm. And I would fish it several times before drilling any holes. Ya might realize that what looks like a great idea, would become a complete cluster on the water paddling or fishing.

First figure out if you're a high angle or low angle paddler. Here is video that breaks it down pretty good:
Werner TV | Werner Paddles
High Angle, more power, fewer strokes need to turn the kayak. Easier to one hand paddle to make slight adjustments (say wind or to fit a one last cast in the little pocket under a tree or dock). Also being shorter means lighter weight paddle and stronger shaft. Shorter wider blades. 210-220 cm
Low Angle, better for cruising. Long paddle keeps drips further away from your body (only a big deal in winter). Longer thinner blades. 230-245 cm
I am a high angle paddler---most fishing kayakers buy low angle (mostly cause that is what is sold at most stores).
Also I would not suggest a bargain basement paddle. It is your motor. IMO Most will notice a dog of a paddle long before noticing a slow/inefficient hull design.
No mention of offset, might want to look into adjustable offset until you get some experience under you belt. I like my blades to be 15-30 degrees offset for the natural rotation of my wrist (for both low and high angle). Some bargain basement paddles only come in 90 or 0 degrees. A 2-piece paddle makes storage and transport easier, just make sure the joint doesn't have any slop/play in it.
I am not going to drill any holes.
There is a cup holder that is molded down by the bottom. So I thought I would try to put a rod holder there if they make one for cup holders.
Thanks for the info on the paddle. I am going to go for the 240cm,
I wish it was spring so I could get out in it.
I can not wait to fish out of it.
You can go now but you'd need to super safe and shallow and have someone with you. PFD for sure.

So I am looking at the Bending Branches Whisper paddle in 240 cm for my paddle.
Any suggestions, would like to keep my first paddle around $50.00
Thank you all for the help.
This time of year, I would recommend an isulated dry suit good wind protection and if you do take a dive, will give you some extra time
I also carry a backwater assault paddle. It is great for fishing around trees or structure where you are holding a spot .
