So at my local private honey hole that 6lb and I fish a bunch others have permission too. Fortunately one is another good friend, ( bass fisherman). He tried to get in but the gate code has changed, so I got the call. I gave the code and he said he had an empty spot on the boat,.. don’t have to ask me twice! He was already on the water by the time I got there. I jumped on and got right to it. The bluegill cooperated nicely as I caught a half dozen or so before the first crappie and a real nice perch

We never really found the crappie sweet spot, but then again it wasn’t his focus. His boat control was on par with a drunken squirrel, lol , all over the place. But I got to sit back and just fish for a change so all was good.

It was about a 2.5 hour trip, water temperature 62, no real signs of the spawn yet, we got off the water about 7:30, the bite was still on a little bit but he had to head out. We loaded the boat and he headed out. I bank fished for a little while before dark with no real success but it was worth it.
