The east side for eyes is good, not great. If you put in a full day you could probably limit but no guarantee like I expect it to be around May.

I am either going to Roesiger or Big Lake tomorrow after work. In Big Lake, I should know within a few minutes if they are in there yet. To be honest, I don't know where the Crappie spawn at Roesiger. Ive never been outside of the first part of the lake. Every time I have fished it for crappies, it has been in summer or winter.

I get off work at 330pm and it takes me just over an hour to get home. So I only get a few hours of fishing but I will let you know how I do.

worked late, came home to my truck not home because the wifes van broke down. Too late by the time I had a chance to go fishing. Im betting the water temp is still a little cold.

I have about 20 cranks and I think I have too many. A guy could probably set up shop with 5 and be plenty fine. What are you asking for what kind and if you could list there diving depths I may be able to get a few sold for you.

I still havent had a chance to get out there and Im going nuts. This weather though I can almost guarantee they aint spawning yet. Might be another couple of weeks. They are probably still out suspended. I really want to try Lake Washington this year if anybody is interested.

I am headed over to Banks the first weekend in May for some walleye action. If the water temp over there is warmer I know a spot on there to catch some big crappies during their spawn and nobody fishes them there. At least nobody I am aware of. I am sure I will give that a shot after I catch a mess of eyes.

    Default Crappie on Lake Washington.

    Joe;

Going to get on Lake Washington on Thursday and give the crappie a try. I haven't fished the lake for them yet but if i find them i'll let you no. I'll be fishing on the north end near Kenmore and see what i can find in the way of crappie and perch.

Good luck out there guys. We went out on Saturday night and caught about 12 or so good keepers in deeper water. The biters were all suspended and feeding on larvae of some kind. Checked their stomachs and they were full of greenish looking larvae. 12' down from the surface over rockpiles was the ticket.

    Gonna try Kapowsin on Sunday.

    Slabking,

You seem to be the guy. Which is better Lake Washington or Lake Union? I was looking at a map today and there are so many spots they could be. Juanita Bay seems to look good and that is probably where I will hit first if I do get up to Lake Washington. Ive only spent time off Mercer Island jiggin perch and only about 3 or 4 times for that. Just dont get down to that lake enough.

    John,

Good luck and I look forward to your report. Ive been trying to get to Roesiger and give it a go but something always comes up to prevent me from going.

They are both very good. If it was a guys first trip out he would be able to find crappie in Union a lot faster than in Lake WA. Just fish the far south end of Union and you'll find fish. On Washington the fish relate to deep wood a lot more than they do on Union. On Union they tend to school up around rockpiles and rocky flats. 9 times out 10 they will be holding on deep wood (like around the old log mill) on Lake WA.

The only down side is that the bite is only good at night. You will catch fish in the day time if it's during the spawn and again in August. The real slabs only seem to hit at night the rest of the year. On Union, fish the pilings and docks that have lights on at night. One good place to catch then during the day is around the UW hospital and along the docks near 520.

That kind of sounds like Lake Cassidy. Not sure if you have ever come all the way up from Tacoma to fish that lake. Small crappies loaded in there but its almost pointless to start fishing them until an hour before dark and an hour after sunrise. In between those times its as easy as it gets for Crappie, but very few slabs, just a bunch of 6-8 inchers.

Thanks for the information on Washington and Union. I appreciate it.

Where do you put the boat in at when you fish Lake Union? How's the north end near St. Edwards Park for the Crappie or is it better by the slough by the Kenmore launch. Are the boat docks good area's or is the shore line cover the best bet's?I only have a 15 hp. Yamaha on my 14 ft. Lund and i don't want to run clear to the south end of the lake.

    John.
