    Default Silver Lake Report (pics)

i'll sum up the first day like this: "at least the weather was nice" :p

now to the fish! we head up to timber point first thing at around 7:30. it was pretty windy and we wern't liking our chances at hooking into a fish. but finaly, as if it had been sent to me from the heavens, a 4lb 5oz largie decides that my jig & craw looks like a good snack. WOOHOO! now i'm pumped! we pitch around for a while more and get nothing so we go back in and get some food.

after we eat we head out to timber point again....nothing. so we decide we should go to the canals, where we were the day before and caught nothing. so we plunk around for a while and we are pretty close to leaving but i say that we should try a spot where i saw one spook the day before. we start fishing the brush and on my second pitch i had a fish on! this time it was a fat 3lb 10oz! so we start pitching for only a couple minutes until another boat comes around the corner, so we decide to move down the way a little. we stop and start fishing another bush, and just like before on my second pitch i hook into a 3lb even bucketmouth! then about 15 minutes later my dad hooks his first bass of the season, a nice 15"er! so we caught 3 bass in about 30 minutes when we had only caught 1 in the previous 6 or 7 hours!!!

so it was a pretty good trip overall. this was the earliest in the season i have ever caught a bass

i was using a 3/8oz football head jig (probably not the best for pitching but whatever). i was using skinny bear jigs that i picked up at the three rivers seminar. today i bought 6 of their pro series signature, 2 elite football, and 2 of the grizz. i think outdoor emporium has these right? i think the pro series are gonna be killer

yeah we do have some kinny bears it is funny you should mention them i just put some in a box to buy later.... Just to let you guys know I talked the buyer at OE into expanding the bass and panfish department, right now the panfish is pathetic, and the soft baits for bass is pretty good but the hard baits are lacking. By april it should be up to scruf.

    very cool koke

i don't remember if they have KGM custom baits or not if not, that would be some good stuff to get.

oh, and you're right about their panfish selection....
