Sat in the house and watched it rain on Friday and didn't want to spend Saturday doing the same thing so I grabbed my rain gear and headed to Burnt Mills. 15 crappie with the biggest at 14oz. All caught around 2-3 feet deep along the shore line. Most caught on a Monkey Milk with chartreuse paddle tail with a few on pink with chartreuse paddle tail. I have great luck with Monkey Milk on all bodies of water and came across a crappie video on Facebook where the pro's were bragging about Monkey Milk as well, so if you haven't tried it, I would give it a try. I showed surface water temp at 64 when I arrived and 63 when I left in the rain with some occasional sleet and winds gusting to 24mph. Pretty happy catching 15 in these conditions. The dang pike wouldn't leave me alone, caught 5 of them buggers as well.

Used to travel down from my homestate(MD) to visit a friend in tne mid 80's who owned a gas station/convenience store in Suffolk. We would fish Burnt Mills, Western Branch, Prince, Meade, Nansemond River. Very fond memories from 40 years ago!! Got into Stripers on Meade a few times that was a blast! I really enjoyed WB, BM & Prince. Have the Stripers been introduced in most lakes there now? Loved the Crappie/Yellow perch action in the Spring. Take care.
Thanks for checkin' on me! CURIOSITY takes me there, SUCCESS ushers me back!
