I need to go fish that lake some to get familiar with it. I'm planning on fishing that tournament up there in May.
Hit the Chick this AM. They were right where they were supposed to be when the water temp is 60. It was not fast and furious, but 2 of us picked through about 15 very nice fish. All fish caught casting light jigheads with BGBS Blue ice and lemon merangue Kalin triple threat curly tails being the hot baits. Fish were scattered and caught in 2-5 FOW. It seemed most bites were in deeper water, so I assume they have not gone completely into the very shallow water following the cold spell last week. The fishing was better yesterday according to one boat. Judging by Mark's post yesterday, it sounds like it was. Not a bad way to spend 3 hours.

I've never fished up there, and definitely don't have a boat nice enough to put in a tournament, but I'm going to try it out anyway. I've always wanted to fish a tournament.

I agree with all you guys. I normally always kayak fish, but I had ankle surgery last week so that way my way to convince the wife to let me buy a boat. I found an older 14ft with a motor and trailer super super cheap. I plan on bringing my wife to fish it with me. She loves to fish and it will be some us time so it's a win for both of us.
