    Here I sit in a hotel room in Edenton tonight. Mathew dropped around a foot of rain very quickly last night. Water came in about 10 inches on my first floor. We were lucky to get our 3 vehicles out in time. Abandoned the house leading my wife and daughter through waste deep water. Never seen water rise like that. Everyone is safe. That is the main thing but got a long row to hoe. A night I will never forget.CF

    Glad you're ok. Got real bad in OV too. Folks next door said worst than Isabel. Pic of car across the street at 8:00 am. At 4:00 am it was above the door handle. It was about 2' from coming in my house, took a couple low tide cycles to go down far enough to get out of the neighborhood, Rethinking retirement plan, Arizona or Nevada maybe?

    God bless you crappiefarmer. There are still plenty of trash piles and gutted houses in the Baton Rouge area. Looks like Katrina all over, except for the roofs not blowing off. Just got the daughter and her family back in their house.

    Ed Currituck didn't fair much better. Lot of tree damage to mobile homes, all the creeks are all above normal. Bob;s fishing hole is very flooded. They didn't let us know very well as to how much rain we were to get. Never seen water as high as this storm did. Glad you are safe.
