Congrats, glad you returned it.
"Thats the one" is all could say. Wentto local private pond that i do most my crappie fishing at and man im glad i decided to go down this evening. Me and a buddy went down with a bucket of minnows to fish from the shore. With no expectations at all, land this fish the first 15 min. And the first fish. Just lucky for sure. It weighed 3.9lbs. And was 18.5inches long. I couldn't believe it. Been trying hard for a while now. The fish was released back after weight and measured. And bunch of pics. Man what a fish.
Congrats, glad you returned it.
WOW! The release even makes it better, the genes will carry on.

that's a very nice fish
Very nice. Would you venture a guess on the acreage of the pond? I know ponds grow some real big crappie. Thanks for sharing. May be a while before you land
another one like that. Worth having a replica made of that one.

I still cant believe it. That fish in a 8-10 acre pond, on a warm summer day, from the shore. Heck when i hooked him my line was first tangled around a stump by the bank. Never saw the bobber go down. And was not even worried. Just casually untandled my line, thinking it was a small bass. When i saw what it was i just started freaking and praying. Chances i landed fish were slim after pulling it through brush and on a steep bank. Im still in shock. First citation crappie. I think i set the bar high on topping that one.
