Another idea, since he is in the Navy, he can actually rent a boat on the base. The Amphib base, Now called Joint forces on Shore drive has services for servicemen / and servicewomen whereas they can rent a boat trailer, moter , hitch etc. The Lake Lawson / Lake Smith facility is around 10 minutes from that base rental facility location.
