Nice half day Tap. I too don't know where all the big crappie have gone in Chick lake. It's been 2 years sense I caught some really good fish. I guess there are too many fish being taken out of the lake.
Well, two weeks ago I got 36 crappie at Chick Lake and today was a repeat performance. Nothing bigger than 14oz and 12" with most around 11" so all I took a pic of was the lake before the winds starting gusting to 20mph.
I fished for around 6 hours and caught most casting Kalin's Money jig with a few on BGBS in Cajun Cricket, pearl, and blue ice. Most were caught 4'-8' down over structure. I showed surface water temp at 67-69. Not sure where the big ones have gone on this lake, I did really well in 2011 there but not so great the last few years. I would have fished longer but I have a killer tooth ache and the pain meds were making me sleepy. (root canal time next week)

Glad you're getting out there and catching some fish. Looks like the season is coming to a good start. The bigger ones like the colder water i think. Can't wait till Dec myself.
Nice catch and 12 inchers are not bad, sorry about teeth
